Class description:

Led by Takuya Fujisawa / CRAFT, this class shares CRAFT’s signature research methods, focusing on embodied precision, imaginative stimulus, and improvisational movement. Designed for dancers, this class invites participants to deepen their physical awareness and expand their expressive range by navigating the fertile boundary between bodily structure and sensory perception.

Central to this practice is the art of shifting perspectives —discovering new meaning within familiar actions and materials. The body and its environment are treated as an active canvas for transformation. By reinterpreting how the body is inhabited and used, the workshop creates opportunities for participants to evolve the techniques they already possess.

Structured around three strategic layers—Tasks, Situations, and Goals—participants dismantle habitual movement patterns and reconstruct their physical vocabulary. Together, they navigate a process of real-time physical “translation,” turning disparate movement backgrounds into a shared, potent creative language that empowers everyone to move with clarity, precision, and intent.
