V.10 Daglig Träning/Daily Training

SOMATIK

Måndag-Torsdag 9-10.30

Bio:

ANNA VILHELMINE WALLIN is a multidisciplinary artist, researcher, and teacher working at the intersection of contemporary dance, performance, poetry, visual installation, and somatic-informed practices. Beginning her dance journey at the age of two and raised in a family of horses, she discovered equestrian vaulting early on and advanced to the Swedish national team, competing internationally and earning a bronze medal at the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez de la Frontera—an early immersion in disciplined, embodied practice that continues to inform her approach.

Born and based in Malmö, Wallin draws on over thirty years of embodied experience — from ballet, jazz, and modern dance—into a diverse constellation of movement and pedagogical methodologies, including Aikido, Alexander Technique, Axis Syllabus, Body-Mind Centering, Contact Improvisation (C.I.), Contemplative Dance Practice, Feldenkrais Method, Breathwork, Shiatsu, Mindfulness, and Performance- and Physical Theatre.

She hosts an annual Contact Improvisation training program in Sweden, now in its fifth edition, co-organises the Sweden Contact Fest, and has developed collaborative projects across the Nordics, Europe, Asia, the US, and Africa. Working alongside acclaimed artists and researchers, she contributes as a performer, choreographer, and facilitator, investigating relational movement and ensemble dynamics.

Her teaching frames movement as practice as research, using improvisation and structured material to investigate weight, alignment, kinetic and spatial relationships, and dynamics. Through touch, momentum, and ensemble interplay, her work fosters adaptability and clarity —cultivating a listening body.

VIDARE:

Class description:

IN CLASS This class combines set technical material with improvisational inquiries on moving into contact. We explore gravity, levels, and kinetic exchange through spirals, falling, rolling, catching, physical negotiation, and weight sharing.

The session begins with a somatic warm-up using release-based techniques to mobilise joints and fascia and establish a grounded relationship with the floor. We then move into technical studies that deepen skills for meeting, yielding, traveling together, and reorienting in contact, cultivating trust and directional clarity.

The class provides concrete tools for an available, responsive body and creates a space to explore shared movement. By strengthening listening and practicing strategies for connecting in motion, we engage with the evolving dynamics of Contact Improvisation.
