Marcella Quinchavil Steen

Marcella Quinchavil Steen is a Swedish-Chilean independent dance artist. She does banal and coquet things with underlying profound thoughts. Marcella gets inspired by Authentic Movement and to roll between embryo and starfish sparks her joy. She works and researches tiny things and movement components meticulously. Her curiosity to movement and dance goes through a mode of deep naïvety.

Her work has been shown in the U.K., Sweden, Denmark, Latvia, Italy and Germany. She obtained a 1st class degree BA (Hons) in Contemporary Dance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London, U.K. as well as an MFA in Contemporary Performative Arts from Gothenburg University, Sweden.
