Nutida: Joseba Yerro Izaguirre

Biography:

Joseba was born in Pamplona, Spain. He graduated in contemporary dance at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. After that, he has worked as a professional dancer in  companies such as: IT Dansa, National Dance Company Wales and GöteborgsOperans Danskompani. He is now a freelance artist based in Gothenburg, a new chapter in his life where he can explore his craft through performing, teaching and creating. He created a movement practice based on improvisation, an ongoing research method that keeps on evolving over the years, both as a class but also as a base to create his own artistic work.

Class Description:

An hour long movement session based on improvisation. A journey through patience, curiosity and imagination as a way to experience the body and its way of expressing. A safe space where the group and music holds every individual, creating empathy and listening. We will begin with a group meditation. A moment to start from an empty state. How can we move forward from there? Letting our body and mind guide us through the answer, we will finally find ourselves standing, floating, acknowledging what is already there. A group shake making us come closer until we touch and a resting moment until the session ends.
