Balett: Albert Garrell

10 maj, 2023 kl. 12:0013:30

Class description: I work the classical technique through sensations and images. I consider it is highly important to promote the use and relationship of bodies with space and individuals; the different dynamics of the movement; the artistic presence; the fluidity and breath of the movement, among other aspects. Through the technique and relationship with the music, I work on the way the dancer perceives, feels and analyzes the movement in a different way. Over time, I began to analyze that, in many cases, the different textures, rhythms or styles of music that I used were positively reflected in the dancer’s movement, weather it through through classical music or none classical.. I believe that the focus of my ballet classes is aimed for contemporary dancers who want to explore this specific technique in a different way.

I consider myself a very energetic and dedicated person. I am fascinated by the idea of constantly surrounding myself with new energies, remaining open and receptive and sharing infinite knowledge that allows us to grow and nourish our bodies and minds.

Bio: Born in Barcelona, I started my dance studies at the IEA Oriol Martorell (1997-2000) and then at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. In 2004, I entered the Hamburg Ballet School under the direction of John Neumeier.
My professional career began in 2007 in It Dansa, under the artistic direction of Catherine Allard. In 2009 I joined Introdans (Arnhem, The Netherlands), and in 2012 I became part of the Staatstheater Wiesbaden (Thoss Tanz Company), Germany.

Throughout my professional career, I have danced in works by Alexander Ekman, Ohad Naharin, Stijn Celis, Nacho Duato, Gustavo Ramírez, Jiří Kylián, Rafael Bonachela, Jo Stromgen, Sida Larbi Cherkaoui, Cayetano Soto, among others.
From 2015 to the present I work in several independent projects, both nationally and internationally as well as been a guest teacher and a lecturer at IAB (Institute of the Arts, Barcelona).

Currently, I have just graduated in the specialty of Interpretation and Choreography at the Conservatorio Superior de Danza María de Ávila, Madrid.
Since 2017, I have been the artistic director and choreographer of LAB3.14, a collective based in Barcelona.
