Since 2020 “CRAFT” has created 11 different performances. CRAFT’s works several art forms are mixed into an evocative whole.
Takuya’s research on physical language and creativity focuses on the theme of “connection/continuity. He explores the possibilities of dancer movement through anatomical approaches and improvisation. Takuya has been conducting research to visualize the relationship between the body and material, and the relationship with others found in the research. Based on his experience as an immigrant, he incorporates a cultural anthropological perspective into his work, looking at things from a different perspective than the norm rather than criticizing issues.
Takuya Fujisawa calls himself a choreographer but can be seen as a multi-talented artist. In the power behind his artistic vision, he is in contact with his material in all its parts: he writes lines, directs, choreographs, designs costumes, produces, carves branches and also participates as one of the dancers on stage. And yet: what is in the artist’s primary focus is the collective creative power of his ensemble.
